The workshop exposes us to the world of masks and physical theater, emphasizing physical expression and providing practical tools for character design using the mask – the ‘from the outside in’ technique. Participants will familiarize themselves with the fundamentals of the Laban and Lecoq methods, acquire techniques for working with character masks, work on adjusting their physicality to the mask (the ‘physical mask’), and explore the physical identity elements in shaping various characters. In doing so, they will enhance their physical expression abilities and refine their physical skills, the primary tool of the actor.
