A masterclass in which participants will immerse themselves in the wonderful world of Commedia dell’arte. We will get to know and try on the classic masks of Commedia dell’arte – Harlequin, Pantalone, Capitano, Isabella, Lélio, Dottore, Brighella, and more – focusing on the physical and vocal attributes of these archetypical characters. We will explore Commedia dell’arte’s basic plot structure – the “scenario.” Throughout the session, students will engage in improvisational situations based on the characters and themes from the Commedia dell’arte scenario.
